I have lived in New Mexico all my life and am so fortunate to have been raised on a ranch. Growing up watching animals and feeling the rhythm of rain and grass and autumn and hope has developed in me a strong sense of awe for our land.

There is a truth and beauty and melody in every thing: every kind of grass and tree and insect. Something as seemingly simple as a sparrow’s wing is a work of amazing beauty. The pattern of colors and shapes of the feathers whisper of eons of perfection. When you learn, or remember how to let yourself see this beauty (I do not think we have to learn to see it, just learn to let ourselves see it. Children can see it. When did we forget?) and wonder and hear the melody, everyday is a celebration.
